Addressed to Mrs. John T. Johnson. Describes her past couple of weeks. Explains that she has never been so tired of food. Describes Friday night dinner and getting up early on Saturday morning to let the servants in to make breakfast. Describes the girls serving luncheon to the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). Saturday night Lura took the girls to Leonardtown to see a movie called “Tide of Empire.” Described Saturday’s dinner: duck, creamed potatoes and stew, and cauliflower and brussels sprouts. For dessert, they had chocolate ice cream. Described a picnic lunch. Then went on a boat ride in the rain. Explained the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) gave the school a scholarship. Discusses that Miss France needs a girl and wants to write to Miss Rasa. Discusses more furniture has arrived for the school. Describes talking to a girl whose father lives in Crisfield. The girl’s father will arrive on a boat to pick her up and stated Lura could come as well. Describes the weather for November believes it is very warm and was able to wear a dress with no wrap (coat) and be comfortable.
