Scope and Contents

Addressed to Mrs. John T. Johnson. Describes her past two days as busy because she had to create duplicate tests for her students. Explains that there were about three inches of snow, but it had stopped and is starting to melt. Describes her night at the school. Many of the other teachers were out. Miss O’Hara and she were the only teachers at the school. Some girls told them Dorothy Wescott was “having a fit” (epilepsy seizure). Describes giving the student a towel to chew on and some ammonia (medicine) to calm her down. Explains she hasn’t decided whether it was a “spell of temper” or that they “prevented a fit.” Finishes the letter Monday morning and describes that there is still snow but has not been outside because it is wet and messy. Discusses that her test is today and finally feels caught up. Describes her family’s finalized trip to Maryland. States the family can go to Washington Saturday morning. Finalizes plans for a place for the family to stay. Discusses making an appointment with the doctor.
