Addressed to Miss Mary Johnson, sister of Lura. Describes that the school is supposed to have furniture delivered. Lura complains that the truck was supposed to be there Friday morning, but it is already in the afternoon and there is no furniture. Describes a plan being made to visit the National Oratorical Contest. Describes that she wants to go but is unsure if she is going. She would rather visit Baltimore. Describes the seniors taking the sophomores on a boat ride and Lura looks forward to attending if she is available. Describes that she has started “coaching” and tutoring three girls in first-year algebra. Complains about giving up free periods but is glad there will be a good check when coaching is over. Describes a faculty tea that turned into a serving party. Asks Mary to give love to Miss Mueller? Explains she had a letter from Miss Hunt Saying she was in Baltimore. Describes writing a letter to Miss Heech and asking her to visit. Discusses Miss O’Hara’s niece and nephew Mary and Tommie. Discusses “Pete” and other girls have the “itch” (a health condition). Pete has to stay in the infirmary. Describes a new teacher as “certainly” dumb. Explains that Miss France is looking for a girl who wants to work for the college. The girl must be college-educated and have a degree. They want to build up the college department. Asks Mary if she knows anyone who would be interested in the position.
