Rescue Coalition report to the St. Mary's College of Maryland Board of Trustees, 1989
Scope and Contents
Papers related to the Historic St. Mary's City Rescue Coalition, a grass roots community organization formed to prevent St. Mary's College of Maryland from building on top of archaeological ruins, prevent the building of structures which block the view of the St. Mary's River, and preserve the historical character of St. Mary's City. The group succeeded in preventing St. Mary's College of Maryland from building a Science Building near Route 5 (it was, instead, built on the North Campus of the college).
