Scope and Contents note

From the Collection:

This series contains serials and monographs produced by SMCM students. Some are academic in intent, some are not. Items in this series are cataloged.

This series does contain alternative newsletters and other publications which were produced by St. Mary's students but had no affiliation with the College. These publications deal with many issues relevant in the late 1960s and 1970s. Many make fun of administrative memos and concerns, others urge students to think for themselves and fight for what they want. Some of the publications, such as Freedom of the Press, were published fairly frequently and contain information on such topics as race relations, draft requirements, academic policies, etc. This series contains records created under the previous name Dean of Students.
